TULSA, Oklahoma – The Metro Christian Patriots fought hard but couldn’t quite make the big play they needed down the stretch to down one of 4A’s top teams. Broken Bow outscored the Patriots 17-7 in the second half to win 23-20.

The first half was very physical. One player from each side broke a bone during the game. Metro Christian got a long touchdown pass from Andrew Hearon to Troy Jensen just before the half to take a 13-6 lead after two quarters.

The Savages didn’t give up and came out of the locker room fighting. Junior running back Eric Dockins scored on a short touchdown run to put Broken Bow ahead for good. Dockins converted on a 4th and 1 on the drive.

The loss drops the Patriots to 2-2 on the season. The 20 points against the Savages were the most they scored all season. Broken Bow (3-0) stayed perfect with the win.

Metro Christian came up with a big goal line stand on defense just before the half. Evan Lanoue intercepted a Payton Werner pass in the endzone and returned it to the 10-yard line to preserve the Patriots’ lead.

Broken Bow returns home next week to face Muldrow. Metro Christian visits Locust Grove.
