TULSA, Oklahoma – Richie Fruechting single-handedly took out Booker T. Washington in their Week 2 showdown on Friday night.

The Broken Arrow senior scored all five touchdowns and rushed for over 200 yards as the Tigers knocked off the Hornets 32-17.

After Fruechting gave the Tigers a 12-7 lead, Mason Mullings set up his third score by returning a punt deep inside Hornet territory. Fruechting then took a pitch play 11 yards for a score, and Broken Arrow led 19-7 with 6:23 left in the second period.

The Hornets responded on their next drive when Isaac Bennett took a handoff at the Hornet 36-yard line and bolted past the Broken Arrow defense before being pushed out inside the Tiger 10-yard line. That set up a touchdown pass from Dominique Sills to Dante Barnett which cut the Broken Arrow lead to 19-14.

The Tigers moved the ball into Hornet territory on their next drive but a 4th down pass by Archie Bradley fell incomplete. Booker T. Washington took over and used a hook-and-ladder play to move deep into Tiger territory.

The Hornets failed to put the ball in the endzone, though, and settled for a Dylan Seibert field goal. Seibert’s kick proved to be the final points for the Hornets. The Broken Arrow defense shutout the Booker T. Washington offense in the second half and Fruechting put the Hornets away with two more scores.

The Tigers will look to go 3-0 next week when they host Union, while the Hornets travel to East Central for a Thursday game.
