OKLAHOMA CITY – The first thing Westmoore head coach Billy Langford said Saturday was that he fully expects his team will make the playoffs this year.
Langford is just the most recent part of Westmoore’s coaching carousel. He became the Jaguars’ third coach in less than 12 months when he was hired in January, but his confidence has quickly rubbed off on his players.
Langford instituted a much faster pace on both offense and defense, and his offensive players said they love the new system. His defensive players said it was tough getting used to defending the new pace, but Tyler Newton said he doesn’t think they will face a team all season that runs as fast of an offense.
Langford added that he is very much looking forward to his first experience of the Moore War. His players said the crowd is so loud they often cannot hear the people standing next to them, which made Langford smile.
