MOORE, Oklahoma -- Lawton Eisenhower and Norman North showed off some offense Thursday night in a four-team scrimmage event at Moore High School.
Westmoore joined Lawton Ike and Edmond Santa Fe took on Norman North as the teams split into pairs to play two-quarter scrimmages. Both scrimmages took place at the same time on separate sides of the field.
Lawton Ike was impressive, shutting out Westmoore 28-0 after leading 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Running back Louis Durant had two rushing touchdowns for the Eagles. The other two scores came from quarterback Adrian McDonald, one on a rush and the other on a connection to wide receiver Adrian Woodard.
Meanwhile, Norman North beat Edmond Santa Fe 24-14 on the east side of the playing field.
Senior quarterback Brad Valentino struck first for the Timberwolves, scoring on a quarterback keeper. Santa Fe quarterback Ty Hensley responded with a keeper of his own to tie the scrimmage at 7-7.
Norman North running back Emilio Gatewood, one of Oklahoma Sports’s Top 30 high school players, is turning heads early for the Timberwolves. However, another running back stole the spotlight at Thursday’s scrimmage.
Timberwolves running back Raymond Denby was the key for North, producing two touchdowns in the two quarters of scrimmage play.
The high school season kicks off on September 2nd, featuring Norman North taking on the Norman Tigers at Owen Field.
