LAWTON, Oklahoma -- Lawton receiver Tyrequek Zimmerman committed to Oregon State. He had offers from the Beavers and eight other schools including South Carolina. Zimmerman chose the Beavers over the Gamecocks, partly because of constant communication.
“I had been talking to South Carolina off and on,” Zimmerman said. “But I talked to OSU everyday. I really liked their offense. I would watch it on Youtube.”
The 6-foot, 185-pounder said he wanted to make his decision sooner rather than later, despite having to travel halfway across the country.
“I thought what if I get hurt, so I decided to commit now,” Zimmerman said. “My family just told me to go wherever I wanted to.”
Zimmerman said he plans on majoring in criminal justice and aspires to become a defense attorney after football.
