TULSA, Oklahoma – Edmond Memorial advanced to the girls' 6A state tournament after a 41-29 win over Owasso Thursday night.
The Bulldogs struggled to stop Owasso in transition early in the second quarter. The Rams got quick baskets to cut the Edmond Memorial lead to just one point midway through the second quarter.
Madison Johnson rallied her team before halftime with a couple of clutch baskets. Bridgette Young hit a running layup before the half to send the Bulldogs into the break with a three point advantage.
Owasso couldn’t find a way to score in the second half. The Rams’ offense went cold and Edmond Memorial piled on the points.
The Bulldogs made it to the next round, while the Rams must now fight from the losers' bracket.
