TULSA, Oklahoma – Steven Hamilton led the way with 16 big points for the Edison Eagles as they soar past Collinsville in Friday night’s regional round, 78-31.
Edison, a favorite to win the 5A title, opened up the game with some quick shots inside. Hamilton scored the team’s first four points.
The Eagles are playing without starting point guard Clyde Hill. The senior had surgery last Monday to remove bone chips in his shooting elbow. Creed Flowers and Derrick Jefferson filled in nicely for Hill.
Jamaro Oakley scored a team-high eight points for the Cardinals.
Edison advances to face off against the Tulsa Central Braves Saturday night at 7. The two schools met in the regular season finale at Central. The Eagles won that game 57-50. Central’s Corey Frazier scored a game-high 18 points in that meeting. Desmond Butler paced the Eagles with 14.
