OWASSO, Oklahoma -- Cascia Hall avenged a one-point loss to Owasso from earlier this season with a 53-36 victory over the Rams on Saturday night.
Luke Bryant scored a game-high 15 points for Cascia Hall. Jeff Bontrager led the way for Owasso with nine points.
The teams were neck-and-neck throughout the first quarter and the Commandos only held a 15-13 lead heading into the second period. The hard-fought battle continued into the second and Cascia Hall went into the break holding a 25-20 lead.
The Rams’ fortunes changed in the third as they missed shot after shot. After an 8-0 run by the Commandos, Owasso’s Dylan Croslin broke the scoring drought with a lay-up in transition. The Rams would only manage one more basket in the third quarter, though, and went into the fourth quarter down by 15.
Owasso was able to score 12 points in the final period, but it was not enough as Cascia Hall cruised to the victory.
Owasso senior Morgan Toben was crowned homecoming queen during halftime. Just hours earlier, Toben scored 34 points and made a school record six three-pointers in the Lady Rams 85-37 win over the Lady Commandos. Toben has committed to play basketball at New Mexico next year.
