BEGGS, Oklahoma – J’lyn Colbert hit a 3-pointer and Blair Williams made a lay-up for Beggs in the final 40 seconds to propel the Demons past Eufaula 47-45 on Friday night.
Colbert finished with a game-high 17 points for Beggs and Chad Creason added 11. Tiandre Nichols led the way for the Ironheads with a 16-point effort.
After a slow start, the Demons took an 11-8 lead with a half court shot by Colbert at the end of the first quarter.
The teams continued to battle throughout the second quarter and Eufaula went into the break with a 21-19 lead.
Beggs trailed for much of the second half, but turned it on in the final minute. With Beggs down by three, Colbert knocked down a 3-pointer in the corner. On the next Eufaula possession, Williams stepped in front of a Ironhead pass and shifted his way through two Eufaula defenders for the lay-up. The Demons finished with 20 points in the final period.
