CATOOSA, Oklahoma -- Harrah made its two-hour ride home from Catoosa much easier by beating Claremore 35-24 in the girls championship of the Port City Classic on Saturday.
Harrah Junior Jordan Hobbs led all scorers with 14 points and garnered the tournament MVP award. Jordan Schultz was the leading scorer for the Lady Zebras with nine points.
The Panthers took an early lead with the help of Hobbs, who scored eight of the team’s first 10 points.
Claremore kept it close throughout the first half and only trailed by two heading into the half.
After Harrah extended its lead to six points at the end of the third quarter, Claremore cut the score to 25-20 with a foul shot early in the fourth period. That would be as close as the Lady Zebras would get, though, as Harrah closed the game on a 10-4 run. Kalie Lucas scored six of Harrah’s 10 points in the final period and finished with 10.
