TULSA, Oklahoma – East Central built an early lead and cruised to an easy 60-45 win over Stillwater Friday night in the second round of the Jenks/Union 2010 Invitational.
Damian Hooks led the way in the first half for the Cardinals. The senior scored 10 points but distributed the ball well on the break also. Hooks set up his teammates for easy scores to help build an 18-9 lead midway through the second quarter.
Josh Pierre did his best to keep the Pioneers in it. His drive and pull up jumper in the paint cut the Cardinals’ lead to 10, but East Central pulled away from there.
East Central will advance to face Edmond Sante Fe Wolves in the championship game. Tip-time is set for 8:30 p.m. at Jenks High School’s Frank Herald Gym.
