Anadarko Warriors Outlast Bridge Creek Bobcats

PURCELL, Oklahoma -- Anadarko defeated Bridge Creek 47-43 in the first round of the Heart of Oklahoma Tournament in Purcell. Jacob Brown had 12 points for the Warriors and Tyler Melton finished with 10 points.

12-10 Bridge Creek led after first quarter. Anadarko opened the second quarter with a 3-pointer and never relinquished the lead in the first half. Later in the quarter, Browns’ 3-pointer gave the Warriors their biggest lead in the game 20-12.

Anadarko went into the locker room with a 24-21 advantage.

Junior Austin Kelley hit a three, with 4:22 left in the third quarter to give Bridge Creek a brief 30-29 advantage.

Anadarko regained the lead and took a 35-32 lead into the fourth quarter.

Kelly hit a three with four seconds left to pull the Bobcats to within one, 44-43, but Anadarko held on for the victory. The Warriors sealed the win at the free throw line. Sheldon Wilson hit two foul shots with less than three seconds to give Anadarko its final two points of the game.

Ryan Spangler led the Bobcats with 19 points.
