OKLAHOMA CITY – The Putnam City North Panthers made it a clean sweep for the Putnam City schools with a 75-63 win over Union in the first round of the P.C. Invitational.
The Panthers jumped on top early and led by as many as 17 points in the second quarter. Union began to slowly claw back and pulled to within three points in the second half, but P.C. North ran away with things in the fourth quarter and never allowed Union to take the lead.
Armon Provo led the offensive charge for P.C. North, hitting six 3-pointers and scoring a total of 23 points.
The Panthers’ game was the last of the night, and came after Putnam City and Putnam City West both had already moved on to the second round. Putnam City schools now make up three of the four teams remaining in the winners’ bracket.
P.C. North will now move on to face P.C. West in the second round at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
