OKLAHOMA CITY – The Putnam City West Patriots dominated their first game of Putnam City Invitational Friday on the way to a 70-58 victory over John Marshall.
P.C. West took an early lead and was up 19-10 after the first quarter. The Patriots extended their lead in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 37-23 lead. John Marshall put up a valiant effort but was unable to overcome P.C. West’s commanding lead.
Tyler Neal scored a game-high 17 points for the Patriots, while Josiah Campbell scored 16 and Amric Fields added 13. DeAndre Prince led John Marshall with 10 points.
The Patriots will now move on to the second round of the tournament, where they will face the winner of the game between Union and Putnam City North at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
