EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Edmond Memorial opened its season with an impressive win over Southmoore. On Friday night, the Southmoore Sabercats picked up some revenge with a 76-70 victory over the Bulldogs in the semifinals of the “Open” Basketball Tournament at Edmond North High School.
The Sabercats led 18-14 after the first quarter of play and never relinquished the lead for the rest of the game.
Brandon Lucas paced the Sabercats with 23 points, while OU football recruit Kendall Thompson chipped in scoring 15 points.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by junior Obi Emegano, who finished with 19 points.
Southmoore will play Edmond Santa Fe in the championship game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Edmond Memorial and Jenks will play in the third place at 5:30 p.m.
