The season didn’t start off right for Star Spencer, but it is late November and the Bobcats are still playing football. The Bobcats (10-2) will meet Sallisaw (11-1) on Nov. 28, with the winner advancing to the 4A state title game.
Star Spencer started the year with a 1-2 record, losing to current playoff teams Millwood and Douglass. The turnaround has gone better than expected. The Bobcats have reeled off nine straight victories leading into their matchup with the Black Diamonds.
Franky Jamison is the man responsible for running the Bobcats’ offense. The senior quarterback has two solid running backs to hand off to, Darwin Rideau and Terrance Olds. The two players almost combined for 250 rushing yards in their win over Glenpool in the quarterfinals.
“I’m excited, I’ve never been this far before in the playoffs. We have always been stopped in the second round,” Jamison said.
Star Spencer is in search of its first Gold Ball.
