OKMULGEE, Oklahoma -- An Okmulgee man was killed when his car was rear ended on Highway 75 Sunday in Okmulgee County.

James Howard, 38, was ejected during the crash and pronounced dead en-route to the hospital.

According to an accident report, Howard was following a southbound tractor at low rate of speed when a second car came up from behind and struck the rear of Howard's truck.

The rear end collision caused the truck to depart the roadway, overturn and eject the victim, according to the report.

The driver of the second car, 28-year-old Gregory Nye, was airlifted to area hospital in stable condition. Four other passengers in the Chevy Traverse were treated and released.

Troopers blame the inattentive driver of the Chevy Traverse for causing the crash.
