Highway 75 Reopens After Washington County Double Fatal Wreck

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced that a fatality collision has closed southbound U.S. Highway 75 just north of Dewey.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A double fatality wreck temporarily closed both southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75 near County Road 1400, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

County Road 1400 is located just north of Dewey. The highway closed just before noon Sunday and reopened at 1:44 p.m.

According to an accident report, Floyd Stammer, 82, and Verona Stammer, 80, both of Oswego, were killed when they failed to yield pulling out of their driveway.

Two other people traveling northbound on Highway 75 suffered minor injuries when they collided with Stammer's vehicle.

All four involved were wearing seatbelts.
