TULSA, Oklahoma -- There are new details about plans to rebuild a downtown Tulsa bridge.

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett teamed up with business owners from the Brady Arts district Wednesday to announce plans for a new Boulder Avenue bridge.

Work is scheduled to begin in September. The $8.2 million project will span the downtown BNSF railroad tracks, linking First and Archer Streets.

The old bridge was closed to the public more than a decade ago.

Brady District businesses owners said they're excited about a new way to connect to other parts of downtown.

"We're not any farther from the businesses from Blue Dome, and we're just right here, it just opens up another point for people to walk over, drive over to our businesses and events," Scott Moore, owner of "Hey Mambo," said.

Plans for the new bridge call for four lanes and will include extra-wide sidewalks for people and bikers.

Work is expected to be finished next summer.
