TULSA, Oklahoma -- A man who had been shot in the back by his common-law wife made his way to a north Tulsa McDonald's overnight Saturday.
Tulsa Police Sergeant Steve Stoltz said officers were dispatched to the McDonald's at Pine and Peoria at about midnight after the shooting victim made it to the restaurant from a nearby location.
The victim said during an argument, his wife accused him of cheating on her with a neighbor and shot him with a small caliber handgun. The bullet grazed his back, leaving a 4-5 inch gash.
Police searched for the wife in a neighborhood about a mile north of the McDonald's but didn't find her.
When the shooting victim refused to press charges, police turned the case over to the detective's division rather than continue to put the officers and public in harm's way, Stoltz said.
The shooting victim was not seriously injured.
"Hopefully everybody will be all lovey-dovey again, until she has a chance to reload her gun," Stoltz said.
