Tulsa Star Trek Convention Attracts Fans From All Ages

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Jeff Carch and his 4-year-old son Clifton beat the heat Sunday afternoon at the Trek Expo.

Inside the air conditioned comfort of Union High School's U-MAC arena, the pair walked around to meet all of the sci-fi stars.

They got to shake hands actors from Star Trek, Star Wars and the Adams family. Jeff says events like this are a way to bridge generations and spend some quality time with his son.

"This is a way of sharing what I grew up watching and now he's experiencing this same thing...it's fantastic," Carch said.

Each year the expo draws thousands, and some fans come dressed as their favorite characters from every edge of the galaxy.
