TULSA, Oklahoma -- Parents, students, teachers and staff are asked to weigh in on some possible changes to the next school year calendar.

There are three options that would add more snow days, get school out before Memorial Day and slightly lengthen the school day.

"The calendar revision we've recommended increases the amount of instructional time provided to students by 15 minutes per day, while actually reducing the number of calendar days," said Larry Smith, assistant superintendent for school and district accountability for TPS.

"By increasing instruction time, we believe this will afford students the opportunity to reach achievement at higher levels on the annual state assessments provided in the spring."

They changes would not affect the first day of school.
