TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police arrested a driver who ran from the cops Wednesday afternoon.
Captain Dave Roberts said an officer tried to pull the man over near Seminole and Lewis for a minor traffic violation, but he took off.
Police said he was going so fast in a residential neighborhood, they decided to call off the chase.
"We try to balance the reason that we're chasing the suspect with the danger to the public," Roberts said. "In this case, we only wanted him for minor traffic violation so the officer decided that didn't outweigh the danger to the pubic of continuing the pursuit."
Roberts said the officer was going over a nearby hill a short time later and saw that the driver had rear-ended another car.
The man was taken into custody. His name has not been released.
The driver of the other car was not hurt.
