TULSA, Oklahoma -- A line of strong and severe storms moved across eastern Oklahoma Monday night, bringing gusty winds and heavy rains.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for several counties, including Tulsa, Osage, Creek and Wagoner counties.

Frequent lightning, nickel-sized hail and high winds were reported with the storms.

News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer said there were reports of winds up to 50 miles per hour in Jenks and Glenpool late Monday night.

According to PSO, nearly 3,700 customers were without power late Monday night.   The utility says most of that service had been restored Tuesday morning.

The storm system will provide a brief break in the excessive heat. While we've been well into the 90's, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80's for the next couple of days.
