TULSA, Oklahoma -- A 46-year-old Tulsa man is in jail after police say he spent Father's Day driving under the influence with his 10-year-old child in the car.
Luther Morris was booked on complaints of aggravated DUI, second offense; child endangerment and driving with an expired tag. He is in Tulsa County Jail Sunday morning on a $40,200 bond.
Tulsa Police Corporal Brett Bilyeu said Morris was driving a Chevrolet Suburban southbound on Garnett at about 4:02 a.m. when he tried to turn east on 27th Street. He failed to yield to an oncoming car that was northbound on Garnett and hit that vehicle on the driver's side.
Morris smelled of alcoholic beverages, had slurred speech and could barely stand, according to the arrest report.
Bilyeu said the mother of the 10-year-old, who was not injured, picked her up at the scene.
The driver of the car suffered a broken wrist and was taken to a local hospital.
