Eleven Tulsa Football Games to be Televised

TULSA, Oklahoma— Eleven University of Tulsa football games will be televised during the 2011 season. Five will be televised by Fox Sports Network while three will be on CBS Sports Network and one will be on FX Network.

"I'm excited about the TV schedule released today. The opportunity to be on television 11 times is huge for our program. It's a tribute to what we've done in the past, and I think it is also a statement to where our program is headed," said Tulsa Head Coach Bill Blankenship. "I like the fact that we're able to get the exposure for our program, our University and our City without having to move a lot of games. We have one Thursday night game and one Friday game, but other than that we've been able to keep the schedule fairly normal."

The Golden Hurricane's season opener against the OU Sooners in Norman will be aired on the FX Network. One week later, CBS SN will carry the Boise State game from Boise, Idaho, at 7 pm (CT).

Other non-conference games against Oklahoma (Sept. 4), Oklahoma State (Sept. 17) and Boise State (Sept. 24) have been chosen for national television. All three opponents are likely to be among the nation's top-10 teams when the season begins.

Tulsa will have six C-USA games televised, four on FSN and two on CBS SN. Tulsa's home game against UAB (Oct. 15) will be carried on CBS SN, while Hurricane home games against SMU (Oct. 29), Marshall (Nov. 12) and Houston (Nov. 25) will be aired on FSN. Tulsa's road game at defending C-USA Champion UCF (Nov. 3) will be carried by CBS SN.

The UCF contest has been moved to Thursday night, Nov. 3rd, in Orlando Florida. Tulsa's regular season finale against Houston has been switched to Friday, Nov. 25th, the day after Thanksgiving, and has an 11:00 am kick-off time from H.A. Chapman Stadium.

Tulsa road games against Tulane and UTEP will be aired by local television stations. COX Sports TV (CST) will televise the Tulane game (Sept. 10) and Time Warner-El Paso (TW-El Paso) will air the Tulsa-UTEP game on Nov. 19th.
