TULSA, Oklahoma – A woman was arrested Thursday after a trooper said she sideswiped his patrol car on Highway 75 and drove off.
Trooper Sheldon Robinson said he was driving south on Highway 75 near I-44 when he noticed a roofing trailer without a truck attached to it, sliding down the road in the opposite direction.
Robinson said by the time he turned his patrol car around, the trailer had come to rest against a guardrail.
He said he was on the shoulder trying to contact the owner of the trailer when a woman in a BMW sideswiped his patrol car, hitting the mirror. Robinson said the woman was trying to pass two other cars.
Robinson said the woman pulled over and stopped, but when he approached her vehicle, she took off.
"I had to get back in my car and chase her down," he said.
The woman eventually pulled over. She was arrested and taken to the Tulsa County jail. Robinson said the woman would likely be charged with improper passing on the right, leaving the scene of an accident, attempting to elude, and driving without insurance.
