TULSA, Oklahoma -- Experience the cultures of Asia at Tulsa City-County Library's Asian-American Festival set for Saturday. The ninth annual festival will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road.
Highlights will include a performance of the Dragon Dance, a kite demonstration by the Tulsa Wind Riders Kite Club and martial arts demonstrations. There will also be traditional Asian dance presentations, a Japanese tea ceremony, bamboo flute music, origami and other children's activities.
Go to the big tent behind the library to see students from several local martial arts studios demonstrate kung fu, karate, tae kwon do and other disciplines. Numerous booths will be set up including henna painting, crafts for ids and name translations.
Food will be available from several Asian and American vendors.
Admission to the festival is free.
