TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oral Roberts University is reaching out to tornado victims in Joplin. The school is sending victims 250 mattresses.
Student workers helped load them onto a truck Wednesday morning. The mattresses were being retired from residence halls as part of a regular maintenance schedule.
They're still in good shape, so one worker thought donating them would be a great way to reach out to our neighbors in need.
"Of course, our prayers go out to the citizens of Joplin, but we're even more excited to be able to send something tangible to help the people of that community," Jeremy Burton said.
The mattresses will be held in Mount Vernon, Missouri until they get permanent homes in Joplin.
