TULSA, Oklahoma – Construction on the Tulsa's new Admiral Twin Drive-In will soon begin. Crews will break ground on the new drive in on June 11, 2011.

The Tulsa landmark burned to the ground on September 3, 2010. Donations immediately started pouring in. To date, $33,710.70 has been raised by private donations.

"The donations and overall support for the rebuilding has truly been overwhelming since last September," said Blake Smith, whose family has owned the drive-in since 1987.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on June 11, 2011 at the drive in. The event is open to the public.

"This is happening because of this amazing community of ours," Smith said. "Whether or not you donated or have ever even been to a movie at the Twin we would like to invite you to be there."

Gates will open at 10 a.m.
