Police Recover Stolen SUV in East Tulsa Late Thursday

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police responding to a report of a SUV theft late Thursday evening near 34th and Mingo found the abandoned SUV crashed into a utility pole.

Officers began searching for a suspect around the Hicks Park area and spotted a man who when he saw officers began to run.

After a short foot chase, officers arrested the unidentified man.

The owner of the stolen vehicle told Tulsa Police she was unloading groceries from the SUV at her apartment complex when the suspect jumped into driver's seat and drove off.

The woman was not injured.

The man was taken to the Tulsa County jail.
