It was a day of many stars for the OSU Cowboys Saturday. Keiton Page, James Anderson and Obi Muonelo shot the ball like Randy Rutherford dropping 45 on the Jayhawks in 95.
But the biggest player on the floor to me was the biggest player in the Cowboys starting lineup. Matt Pilgrim outplayed Cole Aldrich. He outscored and outrebounded the All American and made life difficult with his combination of size and quickness.
Pilgrim is the difference between a short stay in the NCAA tournament and a trip to the Sweet 16 for OSU. When hes right and not in foul trouble Pilgrim is an automatic double-double.
Pilgrims emotions can run hot and cold and at that has been a problem at times. OSU fans can only hope that the Kansas win and euphoria surrounding it show Pilgrim what can happen when he is fully focused and committed.
