Let me caution you that on Friday nights I’m usually locked in the Oklahoma Sports sports cave and unable to see all of the games that I would like to.  But I’ve poured through the statistics and done at least 10 minutes of analysis.  Here are my championship picks:

Class 6A- Jenks

They’re playing with a chip on their shoulder and for their coach.  It’s hard to beat that kind of mojo.

Class 5A-El Reno

I’m torn between my alma mater (Shawnee) and my friend Tom Cobble.  El Reno was in the semis last season.  Shawnee has proven high powered and has won the tough game (Carl Albert).  Still going with the Indians.

Class 4A-Weatherford

What an amazing season.  They deserve my vote for the way they’ve played.  Glenpool’s mystery loss concerns me a bit.

Class 3A-Cascia Hall

It’s hard to argue with a repeat.  Look out for Tuttle in the semis however and Madill with super-athlete Darryl Fields and Kerry Roberts the coaches’ son.  They have big-play ability.

Class 2A-Davis

I think they have a little easier road on their side of the bracket.  Jones forfeiture of games makes that half of the bracket less difficult.

Class A-Tonkawa

I’m picking the Bucs because they’ve been there before, but Class A is the hardest to pick.  Talihina has 8 shutouts in 11 games.  Hennessey is having a magical season.  It’s not fair to have to choose.

Class B-Garber

Wolverines have been number one all season and I think they’ve played a tougher schedule than some others

Class C-Shattuck

Easiest pick all night.  7 straight titles.
