OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City RedHawks used the first and last frame of Tuesday’s matchup against the Fresno Grizzlies to build a 5-2 lead and never looked back.

OKC opened the scoring in the first tallying three runs. Anderson Hernandez and Jeff Keppinger singled and later scored on a Koby Clemens double for a 2-0 lead. Brian Dopirak next singled in Clemens for a 3-0 score.

Fresno got on the board in the third thanks to Tyler Graham who doubled with two out and scored on a Conor Gillaspie single for a 3-1 game.

The Grizzlies added one more in the fifth when Terry Evans blasted a solo home run, cutting the RedHawks lead to 3-2.

Robinson Cancel extended his hitting streak to 15 consecutive games with a single. His streak is the longest streak for any Redhawks hitter in 2011.

In the ninth, OKC added two more runs for good measure. Both Cancel and Clemens led off with back-to-back singles and later both scored off a single by Brandon Barnes to put the Redhawks up 5-2.

Oklahoma City moves to 20-25 on the season while Fresno now sits at 21-25.

RedHawks starter Nelson Figueroa (2-0) allowed two runs and seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts over six and two-thirds innings in a winning decision.

Fresno starter Josh Banks (3-3) allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings for a losing decision.

David Carpenter (2) saved the game after allowing one hit over one and one-thirds innings.

The RedHawks take the field again Wednesday at 9:05 p.m. Jordan Lyles will take the mound for OKC while Shane Loux will be on the bump for the Grizzlies.
