WACO, Texas -- A ninth-inning comeback lifted the Oklahoma Sooners to a 5-4 win over the Baylor Bears, claiming the second game of the three-game weekend series.
Trailing 4-3 in the top of the ninth, with runners on first and second Garrett Buechele doubled to left field to bring Eric Ross home from second to tie the game. Caleb Bushyhead hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Elliott Blair home to give Oklahoma (40-13, 14-10) a 5-4 lead.
Bobby Shore (3-2) was credited with a win for the outing, giving up just one hit and one earned run in his 2.2 innings of service. Max Garner received a loss for the Bears (28-24, 12-14), allowing three hits and two earned runs in just two-thirds of an inning.
Oklahoma started the scoring in the top of the fourth inning, thanks to a Tyler Ogle three-run home run to left field in the top of the fourth inning to take a 3-0 advantage.
However, the Bears responded quickly, tying the game just two innings later.
In the third at-bat of the sixth inning, Joey Hainsfurther singled up the middle to bring Logan Vick home from third to cut the deficit to 3-1. In the next at-bat, Jake Miller homered to left field to score two runs and tie the game a three runs each. A sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh scored Chris Slater to give the Bears a 4-3 advantage.
