TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Drillers extended their winning streak to five games Thursday with a 4-2 victory over the Arkansas Travelers.

The Drillers (16-9) got off to a quick start, scoring three runs in the game’s first two innings. Ben Paulson drove home a run with ground ball in the first, and Mike Daniel blasted a two-run home run in the second for a 3-0 lead.

Tulsa’s bats cooled off after that, with the Drillers recording only one more hit in the game’s final six innings. But those first three runs were all they needed.

Luis Jimenez drove home two runs with a homer of his own in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Travelers (9-13) could never fully eliminate the lead. Tim Wheeler finished the scoring with an RBI double in the seventh, Tulsa’s only hit since the second.

Rob Scahill earned his second win of the season with a strong performance, holding Arkansas to two runs on four hits in six innings of work. Dustin Molleken pitched a perfect ninth inning and received his first save of the season.

The Drillers remained undefeated in May and now have a commanding four-game lead in the Texas League North standings. They will have a chance at a four-game sweep of Arkansas with the series finale at 7 p.m. Friday.
