TULSA, Oklahoma – The University of Tulsa softball team has had an outstanding season so far. And they’ve still got several more games left in the season. Unfortunately, none of those games will be at home.

On Thursday afternoon, the Golden Hurricane played their final home game of the season as they took on Missouri State. This game was originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, but because of the recent rain, the game had to be pushed back a day.

Both teams took a little while to get comfortable. But, eventually, the Tulsa bats got going. The Golden Hurricane struck first with an RBI single in the 3rd. Then, thanks to another RBI single in the 4th, TU took a 2-0 lead. The Golden Hurricane added a couple insurance runs in the 5th when Samantha Cobb singled up the middle with runners on 2nd and 3rd. They both scored to give Tulsa a 4-0 lead.

And that was more than enough for Tulsa’s star pitcher, Aimee Creger. She was dominant once again for the Golden Hurricane. She gave up a single in the 1st and another single in the 4th?and that was it. Creger struck out 13 as she threw her 8th shutout of the year. And behind that dominant performance, the Golden Hurricane beat Missouri State 4-0.

Tulsa is now 38-12 on the season. Even though this was their last home game, the Golden Hurricane isn’t done with the regular season. Tulsa will wrap up the regular season next weekend (May 7-8) when they play 3 games at UTEP.
