NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Sooners improved to 25-8 on the season after a 13-6 win over the TCU Horned Frogs Tuesday.

Oklahoma used seven pitchers to hold off the Horned Frogs, who only scored in three innings of the game. The Sooners were first on the board, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Horned Frogs answered back in the top of the third with their first run, narrowing the score to 2-1, but OU extended its lead with three additional runs in the bottom of the third.

Three runs in the sixth inning and one in the fourth put the Sooners ahead 9-1 by the bottom of the seventh. TCU was held scoreless until the top of the eighth when the Horned Frogs posted one run. Oklahoma put up four runs in the same at-bat when Toal Tanner reached first on a fielding error. The Horned Frogs’ errors allowed Tanner’s hit to clear the bases and extend OU’s lead to 13-2.

TCU tried to string together some hits in the top of the ninth, putting up four hits. Texas Christian’s Erik Miller finished with the loss after throwing 2.2 innings, allowing four hits and striking out three batters.

OU’s Jordan John earned the win after throwing 3.0 innings, allowing four hits while striking out six Horned Frogs.
