NORMAN, Okla. -- Before squaring off April 15 in a three-game conference series split between Tulsa and Oklahoma City, the first Bedlam Baseball matchup of 2011will take place Tuesday in Norman.

“[The home-and-home] is great for Bedlam Baseball,” Oklahoma coach Sunny Golloway said. “Both teams are going to come in with the same type of record, so it’s good for the state of Oklahoma to have such a key matchup.”

The extra matchup is not only an opportunity for fans to get a view of the teams on their home diamonds, but a chance for the players to scout their in-state rival before the crucial conference series.

“It’s like a nice, little tune-up,” Garrett Buechelle said. “We got to know their team a little better, they get to know us a little better. It’s good fun for our fans to get out here.”

Tuesday's matchup begins at 6:30 p.m. at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman.
