LINCOLN, Neb. – All good things must come to an end, including OSU’s five-game winning streak.
The Cowboys dropped a 6-4 contest at Nebraska on Sunday and fell to 5-4 in Big 12 play (21-7 overall).
Randy McCurry took over pitching for the Cowboys with the game tied at 4. But he gave up the loss allowing two runs (one earned) in the eighth inning.
Despite the loss, several OSU players were able to contribute some solid offensive stats.
Davis Duren went 3-for-4 in the game, and Zach Johnson racked up two RBIs.
Duren got things started for Oklahoma State, leading off the second inning with a solo homer to right field.
Nebraska (19-11) came back in the bottom of the second on a two-RBI single to put the Huskers up 2-1 and take their first lead of the weekend series.
OSU came right back with two runs in the third off RBIs from Johnson and Mark Ginther.
After a two-run homer from the Huskers to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth, OSU managed just one more run in the game before giving up the lead for good in the eighth.
The Cowboys still took the series two games to one after picking up a 12-7 victory on Friday and a 10-0 win on Saturday.
Oklahoma State will return to action with a Bedlam showdown on Tuesday against Oklahoma in Norman. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m., and the game will not count toward regular conference standings.
