OKLAHOMA CITY—The Oklahoma City Barons used some of their time off the ice to visit patients at the Bethany Children’s Center.
Andrew Lord, Bryan Helmer, Johan Motin and Alex Plante visited the patients and their families at the hospital and even played a little air hockey.
In addition, the players got a tour of the non-profit facility that cares for cares for children with medical and physical disabilities.
A group of the players’ wives and girlfriends hosted a fundraiser this past weekend by selling autographed photos of the Barons. All proceeds are being donated to the Bethany Children’s Center.
This Friday the Barons squad will wear one-of-a-kind jerseys that will later be auctioned off to support the Special Olympics.
The Barons will also be at the Build-a-Bear Workshop in Penn Square Mall this Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The entire Barons’ roster will be making unique, custom stuffed animals at the store to be auctioned off during the final two home games of the season in April.
The proceeds from the auction will benefit a charity associated with the Barons.
