Ibaka to Compete in NBA Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma– Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka has been selected to participate in the 2011 Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam during All-Star weekend February 18.

Ibaka was one of 18 players selected by the NBA assistant coaches.

This season Ibaka is averaging 9.6 points and shooting 56.2 percent from the field for the Thunder which is the 7th highest shooting percentage in the NBA. He also averages 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game in 47 games this season.

Ibaka is joined on the sophomore team with San Antonio Spurs center DeJuan Blair, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans, Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson, Philadelphia 76ers guard Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings, and Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews.

All-Star weekend will be held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center starting Fri. February 18, 2011.
