Tulsa Golden Hurricane Struggles against Tulane

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Golden Hurricane’s tumultuous season continued Sunday with an 80-66 loss to the Tulane Green Wave.
The GreenWave was all over Tulsa from the opening tip, jumping out to a 5-0 lead to start the game, a lead that ballooned to an 18-5 lead seven minutes into the game.
By the end of the first half, the Golden Hurricane trailed 30-18.
Tulsa hit just four of its 22 attempts from the floor in the first half, while turning the ball over 10 times.
The Golden Hurricane outscored Tulane by six in the second half, but never was able to overcome the deficit.
Tulane’s Danielle Young led all scorers with 19 points, while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists. Brett Benzio added 15 points and nine rebounds in the winning effort.
Taylor Hooker set the pace for Tulsa with 14 points, with Amanda Mason contributing 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Golden Hurricane will try to grab its second conference win Thursday against the UTEP Miners.
