WACO, Texas -- The Oklahoma State Cowgirls suffered their third-straight loss at the hands of the No. 1 Baylor Lady Bears.
Baylor’s Brittney Griner was just one rebound shy of a double-double, racking up 18 points and nine boards, leading the Bears to the 70-39 victory.
The final score marked Baylor’s 13th-straight win and Oklahoma State’s third-straight Big 12 loss.
Odyssey Sims posted 15 points for the Lady Bears, hitting three 3-pointers and shooting 5-of-6 from the field. Baylor posted easy points from the charity line, hitting 24 of their 34 shots. Teammate Melissa Jones added 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Cowgirls, lead by sophomore Toni Young’s 12 points, eight rebounds and five steals, were no match for the top-ranked Lady Bears. Conference play has been a battle for the young team, as they dropped their first two games to No. 7 Texas A&M and Kansas State.
Prior to the beginning of Big 12 play, the Cowgirls fell only once -- to the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils.
OSU will look to snap their three-game losing streak and record their first conference win when they host Colorado Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
