TULSA, Oklahoma – On Friday night, the Tulsa Oilers suffered their worst loss of the season, a 10-1 thrashing by Allen. Fortunately, the Oilers didn’t have much time to dwell on that loss.
Because of Saturday night’s Fiesta Bowl, the Oilers moved their game-time up to 3:00 PM. And the players were up for the challenge.
Tulsa scored once in the first period and had a small lead at the first intermission. Then, something clicked early on in the second period. Tulsa scored 4 goals in the first 6 minutes of the second, and they ended up scoring 5 in the period. And that was more than enough as they cruised past Texas 6-2.
The Oilers are now 16-16-1 this year. And, once again, they don’t get a lot of rest before they get back on the ice. The team is back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Allen.
