OKLAHOMA CITY – The opportunity to give was too much to pass up for Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green. The fourth year NBA player handed out more than 100 bags of food for the holidays Thursday at Fifth Street Baptist Church.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for the past couple of years. This is the first time I’ve really had the chance to be home for the holidays,” Green said.
Each family received two bags of food consisting of ham, potatoes, cherry pie and more holiday items for the perfect meal on Christmas day.
“Seeing the look on these families faces when I hand them the food, it has me at a loss for words," Green said."It just makes this Christmas that much more special."
Green and the Thunder will play the Denver Nuggets Christmas night at Oklahoma City Arena.
