STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The Stillwater Police Department is investigating a possible sexual assault, and two Oklahoma State basketball players are among the suspects, according to police.
Stillwater Police Captain Randy Dickerson said his department received a letter Wednesday afternoon saying the assault may have taken place at a party late Saturday or early Sunday. Dickerson said the police identified three OSU females who were potential victims.
The victims identified several possible suspects, and after the police interviewed those suspects they narrowed their focus on three people, one non-student and two basketball players.
Dickerson said he expects to present a report to the district attorney next week for possible charges against the three suspects. From there, it will be up to the district attorney’s office to decide if charges will be filed. Because no arrests have been made, the police are not naming any of the three suspects.
“OSU is cooperating fully with the Stillwater police investigation, and the university is taking this matter very seriously,” OSU spokesman Gary Shutt said. “No charges have been filed and no disciplinary action has been taken at this time.”
