STILLWATER, Oklahoma—Oklahoma State guard Fred Gulley is out for the remainder of the season due to acyst in his rightshoulder.
Oklahoma Sportshas confirmed that there is acyston a bone in his shoulder and that it isis non-cancerous.Gulley will undergo surgery sometime next week to remove the cyst,and doctors have informed him thatthe recovery time is between three andfour months.
Gulley has missed the last three straight games due to the injury, but in seven games this season he is averaging 2.3 points, 2.6 rebounds per game.
NCAA rules state that any player that plays in 20 percent or less of the teams' games in a season due to injury can apply for a medical redshirt.
Gulley had surgery on his left shoulder during the off-season.
The Cowboys next opponent is Alabama inside the Oklahoma City Arena Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m.
