NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Sooners remained undefeated at home Saturday with a 73-60 win over in-state foe Oral Roberts.
Oklahoma (5-5) started the day cold, allowing ORU (4-5) to go on a 16-3 run in the game’s first six minutes. The Sooners chipped away at that lead until going on a 15-0 run of their own to take their first lead. They did not trail for the rest of the game.
OU took a 34-26 lead into halftime, and the Golden Eagles managed to cut that lead to two in the second half. But the Sooners pulled away after and closed the game on a 16-8 run to seal the victory.
For the second straight game, OU had very even offensive production. Five different players scored in double figures, with Steven Pledger leading the way with 19 points. Cameron Clark scored 17, Andrew Fitzgerald scored 14, Cade Davis had 10 and Carl Blair added 12 off the bench.
Warren Niles carried ORU's offense, scoring a game-high 22 points off the bench thanks to six 3-pointers. Steven Roundtree and Dominique Morrison each scored 11, and Damen Bell-Holter had 10 points.
Oklahoma has recovered from a five-game losing streak to win its last two. The Sooners are 5-0 at Lloyd Noble Center, but remain winless on the road. They will have a week off before facing Cincinnati at 8 p.m. next Saturday in the All-College Classic.
