Three Cowboys, One Sooner among Awards Finalists

OKLAHOMA CITY – Several state players are on the finalist lists for major college football awards for the 2010 season.
OSU receiver Justin Blackmon and OU receiver Ryan Broyles are up for the Biletnekoff Award, given annually to the nation’s top college receiver.
They join South Carolina’s Alshon Jeffery on the list.
Blackmon is first nationally in receiving yards per game and leads the country in receiving touchdowns with 17.
Ryan Broyles is first in receptions per game and third in receiving yards per game.
Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, which goes to the nation’s top collegiate running back.
He joins Oregon’s LaMichael James and Wisconsin’s John Clay on the finalist list.
Hunter is fifth nationally in rushing yards and has 16 rushing touchdowns.
OSU kicker Dan Bailey joins Notre Dame’s David Ruffer as well as Danny Hrapmann of Southern Miss as finalists for the 2010 Lou Groza Award, which goes to the nation’s best place kicker.
Bailey became OSU’s career leader in scoring this season and is second nationally in scoring with 11.45 points per game. He is 22-of-26 on field goals for the season.
